Yep, I was at the Finlandia Hall today. Canon Oy was nice enough to give me free tickets, but they were only for the evening gala, so I wasn’t able to see the daytime shows without paying.
I explored, examined and probed the exhibitions. Some of the exhibition images were printed on a transparent paper and were backlit. Good idea, but some of the lamps were broken, and it was reaaaally hard to see the photo.
I was at Helsinki way too early: at 11.00. I didn’t want to pay for daytime shows, and I couldn’t figure out how to pass 5 hours at Helsinki, so I just went home. No gala for me this time. But at least I saw the exhibitions. The most memorable exhibition was the one by Kari Poppis Suomela. Those images from the South Pole were running as a slide show on a high def TV. And it really kept me watching for some time.
